Stumbled upon Yummy Bowl last Christmas Eve. There were just 3 of us gathering that night and thought we would try yummy Bowl for carry out.
The young man taking orders was very helpful.
The food was hot fresh and on the biggest carry out night of the year was exactly what we ordered  the Penang curry is excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and portions were great.
I recommend carry out if you are looking for ambiance. They also deliver to areas outside of Highland Park which is great.

In never ending quest to find decent Chinese in the Highland Park area.
Here is the positive about Yummy Bowl - it's seems that every chicken dish had white meat chicken, which is a plus. Chicken with pea pods, orange sesame chicken.
It looked and tasted like prison slop. From the soggy and blandness, to the questionable sauces.
In my entire life, I have never thrown out chicken fried rice, I always eat it the next day. This was a first for me.

The name says it all.  Everything I've had here is yummy!  I would have to say: this is one of the best Chinese Restaurants on the North Shore.

This is a clean, well-maintained, large space.  The tables all have a fresh sheet of butcher paper. I like that.

I've only eaten here at lunch time. All the lunch specials are around $8 or so. All come with generous portions, and I believe most (if not all) come with soup, an egg-roll, and crab rangoon.

Everything I've had here is good. I really enjoy the Sesame Chicken. Service is laser-sharp, and very friendly.

Yummy Bowl offers quality Chinese food, reasonable prices, and a clean environment.  What more could you ask for?

I'm a Yummy Bowl take-it-to-go regular. I typically order fried rice and Shanghai noodles for my kiddos once or twice a month, but it's been forever since I've had the opportunity to actually dine in.

Recently I held a lunch meeting here, and it was honestly the perfect location for quiet conversation, a relaxing atmosphere, and great food! I had cashew chicken in a heavy brown sauce off the lunch menu. What a great value. The meal came with soup, an egg roll and crab rangoon appetizer, the main dish, and finished with an almond cookie and fortune cookie. All three of us at for just under $40 including the tip!

My cashew chicken was hearty with a generous portion of chicken, but the fail was an empty fortune cookie...oh no! Of course I asked for another one, because no one should leave with an empty fortune. ;-)

Here's what I'm thinking for the future...get lunch to go and bring it home for an after school snack. There's a reason Yummy Bowl has been around forever. It's a local neighborhood staple.

So I haven't been here in oh, say, 15 years or so. This place was not good back then. So I am so glad I tried it again. I've been hearing some good things from my fellow "locals" and they were right!

I came here for a lunch meeting. They have a huge selection of choices on their lunch menu. With most, you get soup, app (egg roll and a crab rangoon), and a nice size entree.... and a fortune and almond cookie.

I'm trying to be healthy :-P so I got shrimp and veggies with brown rice. I asked for it steamed. It was perfect, and just what I wanted. The shrimp was plentiful, firm, and a nice size. Not fishy at all. There was a very good variety of veggies too.

I came home and told hubby we must go back for dinner. I also just happened to notice on the way home that our usual asian place closed, so this will be a perfect place to try again for dinner!
